Initiating the Request
To initiate a transfer request for inventory from another location, follow these steps.
Start out by going to "Inventory" then "Transfers." There you will see the option to "Request" a transfer.
Once you click request, you will be prompted to select where the inventory is shipping from (ship from) and where the inventory would be going to (ship to). You'll also be prompted to select a due date, which determines when a transfer request is considered overdue.
Once those three fields are filled out, click continue.
You can now add the items to the transfer request by scanning barcodes (if you have the barcodes to scan) or search and add by clicking the "find" button.
Once you have selected the items to be transferred, you will see how your quantities on hand in each location will be affected.
Additionally, you can use the "Import Lines" button to import a transfer request from a spreadsheet. If you are analyzing inventory to transfer in reporting, you can export to Excel, make some adjustments and then re-import as a request.
After adding all the items you'd like to request, you will click "Post Request." The transfer status will then move from "Pending Request" to "Awaiting Pick."
Accepting the Request
Now that the request has been posted, the shipping location will receive an alert on their sales dashboard notifying them that there is a transfer request to be picked.
The shipping location can approve or deny the request by updating the "QTY Shipped" column on the transfer. This can be updated by manually changing the numbers, scanning barcodes, or clicking "select from transfer request" and selecting which items will ship out.
Once you hit the "Complete Shipment" button, your transfer will move to the "In Transit" status, at which point it can be received by the receiving location.
